The 10th annual "A Quilt Exhibit: Fabrics and Fabrications" exhibit at Southport Congregational Church raised almost $38,000 for three designated nonprofit organizations.

Beneficiaries included Emerge of Stratford, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut in Trumbull and Project Learn in Bridgeport. They received the funds and special quilts made by the BeeAttitudes, a quilting group at the church, during a recent luncheon.

The exhibit, which took place in early March, displayed more than 140 quilts and attracted more than 600 visitors, according to a news release from the church.

Emerge provides transitional living for survivors of domestic violence and their children, while Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Project Learn is an after-school program supported by the Bridgeport Council of Churches, the release states.
