A low-cost rabies vaccination clinic will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Fairfield Animal Shelter on One Rod Highway.

The cost of the inoculation is $20 per pet and must be paid in cash. All dogs should be on leashes and cats in secure carriers. Carriers can be borrowed from the animal shelter to transport a cat to the the clinic.

Anyone who has a state assistance card will receive a free vaccine for one pet. Any pets with a previous rabies vaccination certificate, valid or expired, will receive a three-year vaccination. Those without previous vaccine information will receive a one-year vaccine.

Dr. John Kristy will be the veterinarian at the clinic.
