Rash of break-ins & thefts reported

Police are investigating a rash of break-ins reported this weekend.

An unlocked car on Riverside Drive was entered sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning. Missing was a $300 GPS unit and $60 worth of charging cords.

A wallet was taken from the center console of an unlocked car on Concord Street. The theft was discovered Saturday evening.

Also Saturday night, a Sherwood Drive resident reported his home was entered sometime between 5 and 11 p.m. and assorted jewelry taken. Entry was gained through a front window.

A GPS unit and $30 in loose change was taken from an unlocked car on Hillcrest Road, and a $300 DVD player and $250 GPS unit was missing from a car parked on Valley Road. The cars were unlocked and the thefts were reported Sunday.

A gray Fuji bicycle was reported stolen Sunday from an unlocked garage on Hillcrest Road. The bike is valued at $500.

A Fairfield University student reported Sunday at a $1,200 laptop was taken from his unlocked room in Jogues Hall.
