FAIRFIELD — A Jennings Road man was arrested Aug. 25, after police received reports of a reckless driver on a scooter.

Kevin McMahon, 38, was charged with operating under the influence and interfering with an officer.

According to the report, witnesses saw McMahon driving north on Black Rock Turnpike from Bridgeport into Fairfield. He seemed to almost fall down with his scooter several times but kept driving. Police said McMahon, who failed field sobriety tests, was initially cooperative with police.

While at police headquarters, however, McMahon allegedly kept standing up, with his fists raised, leading to the interference charge.

McMahon was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport Sept. 5 and was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for evaluation.
