Fairfield Theatre Co. will present a performance by reggae singer and DJ Collie Buddz at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at StageOne, 70 Sanford St. Doors open 7 p.m.

Buddz broke into the music scene in 2007 with the single "Come Around," which debuted on Billboard's reggae charts at No. 1, according to a news release. His hit track, rooted in urban music such as dancehall and hip-hop, soon took him into the studio with music stars such as Busta Rhymes, Beyonce and Lil Flip.

Despite influences from hip-hop, club music, pop and soca, his music has a solid reggae foundation. Soca -- a Caribbean music from Trinidad and Tobago -- can be heard in his second and third major hit singles, "Tomorrow's Another Day" and "Mamacita."

Tickets, $45 in advance, $50 at the door, $5 off for FTC members, may be bought at the box office at 203-259-1036 or at www.fairfieldtheatre.org.
