A customer at Home Depot, 541 Kings Highway Cutoff, told police Thursday afternoon that his wallet had been stolen while he was at the store that morning.

A customer service representative told police the patron left the wallet at one of the store's self-checkouts, but a surveillance camera showed the customer placed the wallet on the checkout counter, picked it up and put it in the cart he was using to carry goods he purchased out to his vehicle.

Police suspect the customer may have left the the wallet, containing $200 cash, credit cards and a Florida's driver's license, in the shopping cart. The wallet was not turned in by anyone at the store, police said.
