Fairfield Republicans will go to the polls at Fairfield Ludlowe High School on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., to nominate candidates for municipal offices in November's town election.

The GOP nominating caucus is scheduled for Ludlowe's lecture room, and all registered Republicans are eligible to cast ballots. The location of the caucus had been listed incorrectly on the Republican Town Committee's website, and some candidates had repeated the error in campaign statements.

The Board of Selectmen and Town Clerk offices are not being contested this year, but multiple candidates are vying for GOP nominations to run for Board of Education, Board of Finance, Representative Town Meeting and other positions.

Fairfield Democrats do not have a similar caucus. That party's nominations are made by the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee, which had been scheduled to endorse townwide candidates Thursday night. Democrats will choose their RTM slate on Tuesday.
