Pope Benedict XVI appointed him as a consultor to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications and as a member of the Pontifical Council for the Family.
At graduate commencement today, Susan Davis, chief executive officer of St. Vincent's Health Services in Bridgeport, will also receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree and deliver the keynote address.
