Suzanne Holliday, a 35-year Westport Public Schools educator, died July 12, 2010, in Eden, Utah. She was 64.

Holliday began her teaching career in Westport at Coleytown Elementary School in 1968. She then went on to Saugatuck Elementary before moving on to Bedford Middle School. She also taught for a year in Virginia.

Holliday was the recipient of Westport's Teacher of the Year award at the secondary level, and was named Connecticut Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

At various times in her life, Holliday lived in Westport, Redding and Fairfield. Upon her retirement in 2002, she and her husband, Bob, moved to Williamsburg, Va. They split their time between Williamsburg and Eden, Utah.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, a retired Staples boys tennis and hockey coach; her daughter, Kim and her husband, Jim McElderry of Stamford; her son, Shane of Newport Beach, Calif.; and grandchildren, Grace Ann and Liam James.

A memorial service will take place at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield on Tuesday, July 20, at 10 a.m. A short reception will follow.
