Sacred Heart University's new Film and Television master's degree program is accepting graduate students for the fall of 2013.
As a sister program to the master's in communications curriculum, it will guide students in creating stories and applying their voices to the new media market through workshops and independent projects, according to a release. Each student will work closely with a mentor serving as his or her artistic and academic adviser, while faculty members guide students in completing personal projects and developing professional partnerships.
Students will also work outside the classroom through partnerships with media companies and complete their own professional portfolios and select their own internships. The program will also provide students with access to the latest production and post-production equipment and latest HD camera technology.
They will also be exposed to the craft of editing on professional quality systems using both Final Cut Pro Studio and the Avid Symphony software. Also, Apple editing stations will be equipped with After Effects, Pro Tools, Color and other post-production software.
