Sacred Heart University's Ryan Matura Library and the Center for Irish Cultural Studies will host a lecture today (March 11) on "Broken Landscapes: Selected Letters of Ernie O'Malley 1924-1957."
The talk, by Cormac O'Malley, son of Irish militant nationalist Ernie O'Malley, will take place at 7 p.m. in the school's Schine Auditorium, 5151 Park Ave.
Cormac O'Malley works as a military historian and literary executor and editor. He has produced autobiographical memoirs, including "On Another Man's Wound" and "The Singing Flame."
After moving from Ireland, O'Malley attended Harvard University and later acted as an in-house international corporate counsel while living in Brussels, London and New York. In recent years, he has focused on the publication of his father's heritage and has co-edited and revised numerous works.
He is also president of the board of advisers at Glucksman Ireland House and works with the Center for Irish and Irish American Studies at New York University and the Archives of Irish America.
