Two scholars in residence at Congregation Ahavath Achim will offer three lectures during a dinner on Friday evening, March 1, and a lunch on Saturday, March 2, at the Stratfield Road synagogue.
Jackie Rosensweig, a doctoral candidate at Yeshiva University's Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish studies, will speak Friday evening on Purim observances in early and modern Europe, the synagogue said in a news release.
At the lunch the next day, she will discuss the story of the Golem at Prague.
A second lunch speaker, Rabbi Ariel Rosensweig, will deliver a talk titled, "Spring of Liberty: Freedom on Purim and Pesach." He is a member of the Henry Beren Kollel Elyon at Yeshiva University and a frequent lecturer on Torah topics, the synagogue said.
The cost for each meal is $30 for adults and $10 for children under age 12. Program sponsorships are available.
