A group of Cub Scouts from the North Stratfield neighborhood has donated 400 children's books and three cartons of toiletries to a safehouse in Bridgeport for adults and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.
Webelos Pack 95 collected the goods and donated them to the Center for Family Justice, the center said. The agency provides free and confidential services to people in Fairfield, Bridgeport, Easton Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
Debra Greenwood, the organization's president and CEO, said the number of children to whom services have been provided increased this year, and the scouts' donation addressed a specific need.
