A journaling session designed to encourage sharing, reflection and documentation of a loved one's unique life story will be offered at the Fairfield Senior Center on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Bernadette Plescia, from Celebrate Me Home, will lead the journaling session at 10 a.m. The purpose of the program, for those 50 and older, is to encourage seniors to document important events, feelings, history and fond memories that can be shared for generations, either through words, drawings or collages.

Celebrate Me Home, a Norwalk business that offers concierge planning services for funerals and memorial services, will supply journals and ask a few questions designed to engage and encourage discussion, jog memories and spur creativity.

Some sample questions include:

In your lifetime, what has brought you the most joy?

What are among your simplest pleasures?

What do you want to make sure that your children or grandchildren or great grandchildren know about you?

At the end of the program, each person will be given a hardbound journal that they can use when ready to make their gift to their family.

The program and journal are free of charge. Registration is recommended by calling 203-256-3166. Bus transportation to the Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace, is available for Fairfield residents.
