The Fairfield Senior Center on Aug. 7 will host a class designed to teach movements to help people who may need help getting down on the floor and then getting back up again.

The free class, "Journey to the Floor and Back," will take place at 10 a.m. in the center, 100 Mona Terrace.

Cathy Paine, an integrative movement coach who has taught at the university level, will lead the class.

The program was developed during Paine's four years' teaching "Feldenkrais Awareness" in Maryland and Connecticut, which include "small, gentle movement lessons to teach ways of moving more comfortably and efficiently," according to a press release from the senior center. Paine will demonstrate movements that people can do sitting in a chair which will should help them move and feel better.
