Seymour man charged with embezzling from Southport employer

FAIRFIELD — A Seymour man allegedly embezzled thousands from a Southport auto repair shop while working for the business.
Police said Stanley Diguiseppi stole $37,195 from Southport Service Center while employed at the repair shop. The business owner reported the alleged embezzlement to police in January after he noticed discrepancies between the shop’s invoices and revenue, according to police.
The 42-year-old resident of Derby Avenue in Seymour was charged with first-degree larceny and arrested off a warrant Dec. 19. Diguiseppi was released on a $10,000 bond ahead of Dec. 29 court date.
