FAIRFIELD — Carolyn Vargas, 45, of Black Rock Avenue, is facing charges after she allegedly used a hammer to break her boyfriend’s cell phone and car window.
Police were called to the Vargas home around 6:30 p.m. Monday. According to the report, Vargas and her boyfriend began arguing after she found photos of another woman, and calls to that woman, on his Samsung phone. She used a hammer to smash the phone and the victim, a Norwalk resident, said he began to pack up his belongings, intending to leave with his five-year-old son.
Vargas allegedly left the house and used the hammer to smash the passenger window of the boyfriend’s car, while his young son sat in the back seat.
Vargas was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. She was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport Tuesday.
