Southport singer-songwriter Kristen Graves plans a concert in Bridgeport on Thursday, June 21, to mark the release of her new CD, "Slow Down."
The show is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. at Boots Place, 281 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport.
A folk/pop artist, Graves new extended-play release features five songs recorded with area musicians Glenn Roth and Brian Dolzani, she said in a news release.
The self-produced CD is being released on the eve of a 35-show, national tour. The tour will include a five-week stay on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota, where she will conduct a free guitar camp for Native American children of Sioux heritage, according to the release.
Her song topics range include personal expewriences to her humanitariuan work, she said, and themes including challenging the government and being kind to one another.
Graves previous recordings include four full-length albums, a separate Christmas album and an EP, accoridng to the release.
