St. Pat's panel plans party, golf benefit

The Greater Bridgeport's St. Patrick's Day Celebration Committee plans two events in Fairfield in September.

A "Halfway to

St. Patrick's Day" celebration is planned for Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Gaelic American Club,

74 Beach Road.

The event is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. and features the Tony Reno Band.

The committee's ninth annual Scholarship Golf Classic is planned for Thursday, Sept. 20, at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. Tickets are $175 per person or $700 per foursome.

The day begins with registration and lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start to the tournament at noon. After golf, there will be cocktails at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
