Spring had yet to officially arrive and there was still a chill in the air Tuesday, but at least one spot downtown bloomed bright green.

It was St. Patrick's Day and Anna Liffey's pub was the scene of a spirited salute to the patron saint of Ireland.

The celebration, in addition to traditional "spirits," featured corned beef and live music.

And nearly everyone sported some kind of greenery, ranging from tee-shirts to beads, wigs and cone-shaped caps.

But most of all, as befitted the annual celebration of all things Irish, the crowd's spirit was evergreen.
