An outdoor concert planned Saturday evening on the Fairfield University campus lawn has been canceled because of the stormy weather forecast.

With heavy rain and possible thunderstorms forecast throughout Saturday afternoon and evening, university officials Friday called off the event as a safety precaution.

The free “Live on the Lawn” concert, which had been set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, was to feature Alternate Routes, a band formed by Fairfield U. alumni. The concert had been organized by the university’s Quick Center for the Arts.
