Swimming banned at Lake Mohegan until Wednesday

Heavy rain Monday morning prompted town health officials to ban swimming at Lake Mohegan until Wednesday.
Runoff from the downpours could potentially cause unhealthy bacterial levels at the town's fresh-water beach, according to the Health Department.
The swimming ban at the lake is expected to be lifted Wednesday, officials said.
The town's five beaches on Long Island Sound are not affected by the ban.
