An international-business consultant will discuss methods small businesses can use to maximize foreign sales while strengthening their home markets during a program May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Public Library Rotary Room, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is required

Among Richard Allison's topics: finding the right mindset; working with an international business framework applicable to any size company; integrating cultural, economic and regulatory dimensions; understanding and overcoming the complexities of the cross-border arena; and thinking out-of-the-box to recognize opportunities in international business.

Allison is the owner of Allison Business Consulting LLC and has nearly three decades of international experience. The talk is part of the library's Small Business Strategies series for current and prospective entrepreneurs, presented through a partnership with the Greater Bridgeport chapter of SCORE.
