FAIRFIELD — Connor O’Sullivan, 19, was charged with assault after he allegedly repeatedly kicked another man in the face early Saturday morning outside Anna Liffey’s on the Post Road.

An officer on patrol around 2 a.m. spotted several people in the roadway, fighting, and, according to the report, saw O’Sullivan kicking the victim.

The victim, bleeding from the face and mouth, said he had just walked out of the bar when someone knocked him to the ground and began kicking him in the face.

Police said there was blood on the toe of O’Sullivan’s shoe, and he allegedly admitted to kicking the victim. But O’Sullivan also told police he was just walking by the bar with some friends when he was jumped by three people for no reason.

O’Sullivan was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace. He was held on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court on Jan. 17.
