A traffic stop by police Thursday night led to drug charges against a Weston teenager.

An officer on patrol on Black Rock Turnpike around 8 p.m. said he heard a "revving engine" approach and then saw a car driving at a high rate of speed near Stillson Road. The car turned into a parking lot and, when the officer approached, he said he smelled marijuana. The driver and two passengers were ordered out of the car, according to the report.

Asked if they had anything illegal in the car. they said no, police said. During a search of the car, however, one of the passengers, Chloe Albert, of Ten O'Clock Lane, Weston, said "there might be" something in her bag, according to the report.

Police said Albert's bag contained marijuana, an amphetamine pill, a digital scale, a rolled up $20 bill, a grinder, a pipe and rolling papers.

She was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and failure to keep prescription pills in original container.

Albert was released on a promise to appear Oct. 22 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
