A 17-year-old Easton youth was charged Thursday night by Fairfield police detectives in connection with theft from a motor vehicle at a Fairfield Beach Road residence.
Police executed a search warrant at the youth's Easton home as part of the investigation into the theft of a MacBook Pro laptop worth $1,200 from the vehicle Wednesday.
The laptop was recovered from the residence, police said, who also said they also found marijuana, a marijuana-growing kit, an electronic scale and several types of prescription drugs outside of their containers.
The youth -- not identified because of his age -- was charged with fourth-degree larceny, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and failure to keep prescription drugs in their original container.
He was released on a written promise to appear Aug. 15 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
