Two 18-year-olds were charged with instigating a brawl at Nutmeg Bowl on Villa Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, an 18-year-old Darien resident was at the bowling alley when his ex-girlfriend, who he had not seen in about a year, showed up and began bowling in an adjacent lane. The girl, 17, told police that when she saw her former boyfriend, she called her brother, Karl Rempe, because she was afraid.
Rempe, of Saxon Wood Road, and his friend, Raj Kumar, of Marne Avenue, arrived and began pummeling the former boyfriend, according to witnesses. The victim did not want to press assault charges, police said, and did not require medical treatment.
Rempe and Kumar were issued misdemeanor summonses for breach of peace and are scheduled to appear Jan. 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
