Two teens face charges after police allege they shot and killed four birds at a Lake Hills beach Saturday afternoon.
Kenneth R. Forrest, 18, of Greenfield Street, was charged with cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His companion, a 17-year-old Fairfield resident, was charged with disorderly conduct and turned over to his mother's custody. He was not identified because of his age.
Police received a call from a Winnepoge Drive resident about possible gun shots in the area. When officers arrived, they found Forrest and his friend sitting in a car. The pair had two pellet guns, which were seized as evidence, and police said Forrest admitted to shooting the birds. Forrest was also found with marijuana, a grinder and a pipe in his possession, according to the report.
He was released on a promise to appear July 9 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
