One of the last chances to view the Pequot Library’s exhibition, “Exploring America: Christopher Columbus,” takes place Jan. 8 when First Selectman Michael Tetreau leads a “Page Turnings” session of some of the rare books on display.
The program is set for 10:45 a.m. at the library, 720 Pequot Ave. The free event is open to the public.
The Columbus exhibit, which runs through Jan. 15, features a range of historic books and documents about Christopher Columbus and his expeditions, including a facsimile of a letter he wrote about his journey in 1492. The original is in the Pequot Library Collection at Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University. The exhibit is open during the usual library hours.
