Police are looking for a man they believe stole laptops from the libraries at both Fairfield and Sacred Heart universities this week.

The first incident, which took place around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library at Fairfield University, was recorded on video and shows a man walking around the building. He spots an unattended Apple MacBook and puts it into his backpack before leaving, police said.

On Wednesday, a Sacred Heart student was in that school's library on the main campus around 3:30 p.m. He left his Apple MacBook on a chair, went to talk to a friend and then used the rest room. When he returned the laptop was gone and a book was left in its place. He said a man, described as Asian, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black gym shorts and white sneakers, with short hair and carrying a black and gray backpack, had been reading nearby.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police Detective Peter Bravo at 203-254-4840 or pbravo@town.fairfield.ct.us.
