Police are investigating a rash of car break-ins Wednesday and Thursday.

A Berkley Road resident told police that someone took his debit card and driver's license from his unlocked car sometime between 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Charges were made on the debit card in Bridgeport and New Haven.

On Thursday morning, a Homeland Street resident reported a wallet taken from a car overnight, while two Prospect Avenue residents also reported their cars were entered. In one incident, the car's glove box and center console were ransacked, but nothing was missing. In the second incident, a $200 pair of RayBan sunglasses was taken.

Two cars on Windemere Street were also reported entered overnight. A Dell laptop was taken from one car; nothing appeared missing from the other.

Police believe that all of the vehicles had been left unlocked.
