Bored with the beach? Gotten your fill of the golf course? Tennis have you tired out? Here's a list of alternate activities in Fairfield this weekend;
Friday night check out local singer-songwriter Brian Dolzani in a free concert at the Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road. The music starts at 7 p.m. Call 203-255-7756 or visit www.bkstr.com for more information.
Round up all those redeemable cans and bottles Saturday morning and bring them to the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Department's monthly collection of redeemables. Cans and bottles will be collected at the Jackman Avenue firehouse, 400 Jackman Ave., from 9 a.m. until noon. Call 203-254-4748 for more information.
You can spend Saturday bargain hunting at tag sales throughout town. Some of the sale locations include 77 Nordstrand Ave., 339 Inwood Road and 456 Westford Drive. All sales start at 9 a.m.
Get cocktails, a casual dinner and a concert Sunday when Congregation Beth El, 1200 Fairfield Woods Road, features the musical group, Yesteryear. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. If you prefer an even more casual setting for your music, head over to the Sherman Green at 7 p.m. Sunday for a free concert by the Glamour Girls, a retro girl group dance band.
