Tires and rims, worth $700 each, were stolen off two Toyota Highlanders at Toyota of Westport, 386 Commerce Drive.
The manager called police Thursday to report the thefts which apparently took place overnight Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, the dealership found a 2013 Toyota Highlander with the front and rear wheel rims and tires removed from the driver's side, and the vehicle propped up on milk crates. The milk crates had collapsed, damaging the vehicle's rotors and trim.
Wednesday morning, the dealership discovered another Highlander propped up on a jack, with the two rear tires and rims missing. The jack had collapsed as well, damaging the rotors and exhaust.
According to the report, a rear gate had been left unlocked Monday night, but was locked Tuesday night. However, a piece of fence was cut open.
