Fairfield Theatre Company will present a performance by singer-songwriter Tom Rush at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at StageOne, 70 Sanford St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Rush has played on stage for 50 years, starting out by covering songs by Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Jackson Browne at coffee shops across the country, according to a news release.

His albums include 1970s releases "The Circle Game," featuring versions of Mitchell and Taylor songs; "Ladies Love Outlaws" and "Merrimack County," in which Rush created his own style through blues, country, rock and folk.

In 2009, he came out with "What I Know," his first album in 30 years. A year later, he put a performance of Steven Walters' "The Remember Song" on YouTube, where it has garnered more than 5 million views, the release states.

He also recently started a Kickstarter.com campaign to raise money to perform a guest-filled concert at Boston's Symphony Hall in December.

Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door, with a $5 discount for FTC members.
