Join the countdown for the town's Christmas tree lighting today (Friday, Nov. 30) at 6 p.m. on Town Hall Green with songs, hot chocolate and, of course, the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
While awaiting Santa's arrival via a fire engine, the Bridgeport Theatre Co. will perform, as will the Fairfield Woods, Roger Ludlowe and Tomlinson Middle School Chamber Choir and the Fairfield Warde High School choral group.
There will be free hot chocolate and glow necklaces compliments of the Town Youth Council.
The trio will get to flip the switch at 7 p.m. to light the 90-foot-tall Norway spruce, the tallest living tree that is lighted for the Christmas holiday in the state. It was one of three trees donated by the Daughters of the American Revolution in December of 1918.
