Excitement was in high gear Sunday as big rigs of all kinds descended on town for the annual Touch-A-Truck event sponsored by the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield.

More than two dozen vehicles were on display at the parking lot of Fairfield Ludlowe High School for fans, young and old, to check out up close. Proceeds benefited the club’s scholarship fund.

Among the featured vehicles were a frontloader and cherry picker, dump truck and city bus, mobile veterinary clinic and fire truck, Army Humvee and ambulance and, more larger-than-life trucks to explore.

Also fueling the fun was a Thomas Train that circled the site, while club volunteers hosted activities for kids and a dunk tank.
