The town leaf collection will take place Monday, Nov. 14, through the week of Dec. 5, for all neighborhoods outside of Greenfield Hill.

Leaves should be placed curbside in unsealed biodegradable paper bags by 6 a.m. Monday to ensure pick-up some time that week.

The following items will not be picked up: loose leaves, wood, grass or leaves in plastic bags, according to town's Department of Public Works. Leaves placed outside of the town right-of-way -- such as in driveways, stonewalls or fences -- will not be picked up.

Greenfield Hill residents should call the town garage at 203-256-3177 Monday, Nov. 21, to arrange for leaf pick-up before Thanksgiving Day. They may call the following week of Nov. 28, for one additional pick-up.

Residents should not rake leaves into the gutter or street to prevent blocking catch basins and keep them free of leaves and debris to prevent local flooding, the department said.
