Two Fairfield University students were charged Sunday about 5 p.m. with possession of marijuana on campus.

Evan Boggini, 18, of Glastonbury, was charged with possession of marijuana, and Christopher Kelly, 18, of Wellesley, Mass., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A campus security officer smelled burning marijuana in the quad of Regis Hall, police said, and questioned Boggini and Kelly about the odor. Both men then reportedly admitted that they had been smoking marijuana.

Boggini and Kelly were released on a written promise to appear Nov. 8 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
