A former employee of Car Quest, 125 Kings Highway East, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday, charged with stealing $10,000 from the business via fraudulent returns.

Hector Vazquez, 41, of Colorado Avenue in Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree larceny and released after posting a $20,000 bond.

According to the report, Vazquez was entering cash refunds to non-existent customers into the store's computer system, and keeping the cash for himself. He made 73 separate transactions between last August and November, according to the report.

Vazquez turned himself at police headquarters. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
