BRIDGEPORT -- City and campus police are investigating the untimely death of a Sacred Heart University student Thursday.
The student's name was not immediately released. City police Capt. James Viadero said the death is not suspicious.
The student lived in Angelo Roncalli Hall on Park Avenue. EMTs were called to the dorm around 2:50 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive 19-year-old man in cardiac arrest, according to DoingItLocal.com.
An email was sent to Sacred heart students notifying them of the incident.
"Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the family of this student as well as to his friends, professors, and other members of the Sacred Heart community who knew him," university spokeswoman Funda Alp said.
Counseling services are being provided through the university's wellness center and campus ministry, Alp said.
