Police early this week investigated what is called the "untimely" death of the wife of former Town Attorney Richard Saxl.

According to Police Chief Gary MacNamara, police were called to Saxl's Sasco Hill Road home around 8:30 a.m. Monday after Saxl found his wife, Jessie Ferris, 65, unresponsive.

MacNamara said there were no preliminary indications that there was anything suspicious about Ferris' death. Ferris was a local real estate agent.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted.
