FAIRFIELD - One of the Police Department’s mobile message electronic message boards was vandalized over the weekend.

The message board had been stationed on Reef Road, near Oldfield Road, to warn motorists of possible delays during Sunday’s half marathon. Someone ripped out a yellow power cord, shutting the sign down and damaging the prong on the cord. The damage was estimated at $200.

Also, six portable toilets set up along the road race’s route ended up in the water. Three were pushed into Pine Creek, and three in to the Mill River. They were fished out of the water by the Fire Department.
