FAIRFIELD — A dedicated band of local folks gathered at the Kershner Gallery at Fairfield’s Main Library late Saturday afternoon to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit titled “Visible/Invisible Views”.

Displayed throughout the gallery space at 1080 Old Post Road, near the center of downtown, the exhibit features the work of three artists: Claudia Mengel, Mindy Green and Joel Sobelson. Mengel’s paintings are very free form, bright and abstract while Green’s paintings integrate mixed media to provide added layers of interest. Sobelson’s framed photos are shot in black and white and draw viewers in with their moodiness.

The show is in place through Aug. 7 and accessible during the Library’s regular operating hours.
