Save the Sound is seeking volunteers for a coastal clean-up of Jennings Beach from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.

Volunteers are needed to pick up trash and collect data for the Ocean Conservancy, which will compile and study information from around the world to learn about the global debris problem, educate the public and find ways to stop marine debris at its source.

The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup coordinated in Connecticut by Save the Sound, a program of New Haven-based nonprofit organization Connecticut Fund for the Environment.

To join the clean-up effort, contact Kierran Broatch, volunteer coordinator, at kbroatch@savethesound.org.

For information about the clean-up program, visit www.savethesound.org or call Broatch at 203-787-0646, ext 113.
