A "tornado warning" has been issued at 11:53 a.m. today for Fairfield County, as well as neighboring Westchester County in New York.
The National Weather Service reports it is tracking, by doppler radar, a line of strong thunderstroms that could trigger a tornado through 12:30 p.m.
Strong storms -- with heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds -- are also possible in the region throughout the afternoon and tonight, the NWS warns.
