WSHU Public Radio's "Join the Conversation" will host author Richard Ford, discussing his novel, "Canada," at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at Fairfield Theatre Co.'s StageOne, 70 Sanford St. He will be interviewed by Roxanne Coady, owner of R.J. Julia Booksellers in Madison. The novel is about Dell Parsons, a young man from the United States forced by catastrophic circumstances to live in Canada.

Ford is the author of the Bascombe novels, which include "The Sportswriter" and its sequels, "Independence Day" and "The Lay of the Land." He also wrote the short story collections "Rock Springs" and "A Multitude of Sins." He lives with his wife in East Boothbay, Maine.

Cost is $5 at the door. Attendees will receive a coupon for $5 off a copy of the author's book, usable on the night of the event only. Proceeds help support WSHU Public Radio.

Reservations are required and can be made at www.wshu.org.
