Wakeman Boys & Girls Club will host an afternoon of activities to be shared by children and adults Saturday on the club grounds, 385 Center St.
The program, “Boys & Girls Club’s Day for Kids,” will take place from noon to 4 p.m. It is open to the public.
The activities are designed to “highlight the value of meaningful time between caring adults and children,” according to organizers.
The event will include carnival games provided by Aardvark Entertainment, music by a local DJ, moon bounces, a dunk tank, face painting, arts and crafts, a caricature artist and more.
Fairfield University lacrosse teams will conduct a free clinic for boys in third through fifth grades from 11 a.m. to noon and for girls from noon to 1 p.m. To register a child for a clinic, call 203-259-4805.
There also will be a single-elimination flag football tournament on the turf field for sixth through eighth graders. The tournament will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m., with a fee of $10 per player that includes a tee-shirt and prizes. Registration forms for the eight to 10 player teams are at Wakeman’s front desk.
A concession stand will be open during the afternoon, and Shake Shack will be offering free frozen custard for all attendees.
