William A. Brundage, a long-time Fairfield resident, died Sept. 22, 2010, in his home.

Born on Aug. 26, 1913, in Bridgeport, he grew up in the city's Black Rock neighborhood. He attended Central High School and worked many years at the Bassick Caster Co. as a cost accountant. He was a long-time member of Black Rock Congregational Church.

He enjoyed playing tennis, and after his retirement from Bassick, worked for the Westport Tennis Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Olive Hoover Brundage, who died in 1994. He was also predeceased by his three siblings, George, Hope (Seastrom) and Robert Brundage.

He is survived by two sons, David W. Brundage, of Cooper City, Fla., and his wife, Jane; Paul H. Brundage of Union City, Calif., and his wife, Donna; his grandchildren, Deanna Brundage of Duluth, Ga., Jeffrey Brundage and wife Michelle of Cooper City, Fla., Sandra Anderson and husband Steven of Hugo, Minn., and Christine Legeny and husband Stephan of San Jose, Calif.; great-grandchildren Carissa Brundage of Duluth, Ga., Rebekah Anderson and Rachael Anderson of Hugo, Minn., as well as nephews and nieces.

He was buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. A graveside memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday.
