Window shattered, electronics stolen in Fairfield burglary

FAIRFIELD — A masked suspect smashed the window of a Kings Highway East store and stole merchandise worth thousands early Saturday morning, according to police.
Police said an alarm at the Verizon Wireless store was triggered shortly after 4 a.m. Dec. 24 after a suspect broke a window with a sledgehammer. Eleven phones and tablets worth more than $6,000 in total were missing when officers arrived.
A Verizon store in Stamford was broken into similarly several weeks ago, according to police. The Fairfield burglary remains under investigation.
