FAIRFIELD — Friday’s storm dumped several inches of heavy and wet snow, but the town’s roads, pre-treated and warmed by high temperatures the day before, remained clear.

Schools were closed for the day and municipal offices and the libraries had a delayed opening, although the storm did not present the travel headache many feared. Forecasters, however, have their eyes on Tuesday’s storm that is expected to dump at least a foot of snow on the region.

For Friday, though, it was an opportunity to enjoy the scenery, enhanced with a layer of white.
